09/25/08 - ProPlug Electrical Connector System

Pro Plug is an easy to wire, easy to mount, self-testing, surface mount, 7 way, 12 volt, trailer and RV electrical connector system that upgrades new installations as well as replacements and repairs. The connector system can be installed quickly and in most applications without drilling mounting holes in the vehicle's surface. High quality wire terminals are easily accessed for initial installation or service and connecting to them can be performed after the connector system has been installed by simply removing a cover. Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs), are incorporated into the connector system to provide visual indication of the electrical signals from the towing vehicle. Detailed Description No Mounting Holes for Most Applications Fast Peel & Stick Installation Easy Wiring Terminal Access High Quality Wire Connections Built-In LED Test Indicators High Impact ABS Housing Optional Mounting Bracket Available. Made in the U.S.A. The Pro Plug electrical connector system has a low profile (2 3/8"), rectangular, (7" x3 3/8"), high impact ABS housing with a large flat back mounting surface with preapplied 3M VHB (Very High Bond) double sided urethane foam tape. Installation is essentially a peel and stick process on a clean dry surface with nearly 1500 lbs. of holding power. The wiring compartment cover is easily opened by removing 2 screws and for flexibility of applications, the compartment has 5 possible locations for wires to enter, 2 knockouts in the back of the housing and 3 sidewall plugs that double as a grommet when trimmed. Connecting wires to Pro Plug is simplified by using barrier strip terminals with screws to captive washer that keep stranded wire contained and can accommodate #10 and #20 gauge wire with no additional crimp connectors required, nor are they recommended. The terminals are clearly labeled as to application with an LED indicator for circuit verification adjacent to each terminal except ground. The barrier strip also serves as a convenient location to connect wires for other applications i.e. the flat 4 connector commonly used on boat and utility trailers.
